Programs

We offer an enriched and exciting program for both 3 year olds and 4 to 5 year olds, designed to prepare your child for kindergarten.

Our 3 year old program

Each week your child will be learning and exploring based on themes. There will be science and discovery exploration centres, story time, arts and crafts, free play and imaginative play, music enrichment, games, and even yoga! They will be exposed to a variety of activities designed to develop their fine motor and gross motor skills, as well as various manipulatives, toys and games.

Daily "circle time" can include colours, numbers, shapes, days of the week, months of the year and patterning. Our program will have a strong focus on pre-printing skills including proper pencil grip, hand placement, finger strength, and fine motor activities. Throughout the year your child will be working on their very own “learning booklet” which will include working on numbers, shapes and pre-printing skills. We also conduct yearly parent/teacher conferences so that you will be kept up to date on how your child is doing.

All of our activities, both structured and un-structured, are created to help develop the necessary academic and social skills, emotional development, self-regulation, and peer skill development (taking turns, interacting and sharing with others) for kindergarten.

Our 4 year old program

Each week your child will be learning and exploring based on themes. There will be science and discovery exploration centres, story time, alphabet literacy bags based on the letter of the week, arts and crafts, math exploration, free play and imaginative play, music enrichment, games, and even yoga! They will continue to be exposed to a variety of activities designed to develop their fine motor, gross motor, and printing skills, as well as various manipulatives, toys and games.

Daily "circle time" can include colours, numbers, days of the week, patterns, and months of the year. There will also be alphabet literacy bags based on the letter of that week. For each letter of the alphabet, we have a literacy bag chocked full of fun and educational items and stories based on that letter, designed to teach them letter recognition, proper letter formation, and letter sounds. We also conduct yearly parent/teacher conferences so that you will be kept up to date on how your child is progressing.

Our strong focus on literacy also includes actively using the Pre-Kindergarten Handwriting Without Tears early literacy program to introduce your child to printing capital letters and numbers with proper sequence and formation. This is an excellent skill that will help prepare them for kindergarten. It is a fantastic program that introduces letters in a developmental sequence. Some of the hands-on manipulatives that they will be using to practice proper letter formation include chalkboards, playdough, wooden shapes that come together to form the letters, and of course pencil and paper. Throughout the year, your child will be working on their "Handwriting Without Tears Workbook" which they will be able to bring home to you at the end of the year. This is a big accomplishment for the children and they are very excited to bring home their workbooks!

All of our activities, both structured and un-structured, are created to help develop the necessary academic and social skills, emotional development, self-regulation, and peer skill development (taking turns, interacting and sharing with others) for kindergarten. Our program also helps prepare your child for the structure and flow of kindergarten.

Our Junior Kindergarten program

We are excited to be offering an enriched Junior Kindergarten program. Our Junior Kindergarten program is 3 hours long, 3 days per week. All of our programs prepare students for a smooth transition into kindergarten by academically and socially preparing them for a confident start. While still blending learning through play, our Junior Kindergarten program is longer than our other programs and incorporates more in depth academic activities including:
