Hello Everyone!!!
My name is Kelly! I am the head teacher at the Towne location. I have always wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember, my best friend can attest as she was my student for the better half of our young lives as we played school. Fast forward 34 years, she is now a Speech Pathologist so I must be really good! 😉
I was born and raised in the South of Calgary, it wasn’t until my now husband received a hockey scholarship to Alaska, that I left Calgary to complete my education with him in Fairbanks, AK. I graduated with my degree in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Sociology.
Upon returning to Calgary, we got married and had twins, followed by one more. After staying home and raising my family I realized that a part of me was always missing. I wanted to go back to my roots and return to teaching!
I absolutely love my job! I enjoy the challenges, the rewards, the hard days, and the best days! I believe every young person is special and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect! My goal as a teacher is to create an environment where children feel free to be themselves, learn at their own pace, and above all love coming to school each and every day!
When I am not at school you will most likely find me camping with my family, cheering my boys on at the rink, or supporting my little lady on the sidelines at her volleyball practices. Family is everything to me. I am also a HUGE lover of sunflowers, the color yellow and my steep tea from Tim’s! Fun fact, I love to sing and know every single Disney song imaginable! Lastly, as all your kiddos will soon find out because of the photo on our alphabet chart, I DO NOT like MICE!
Ms. Kelly
