Ms. Kelly
Hello Everyone! My name is Kelly! I am a teacher at A Child First Preschool, McKenzie Towne location. I was born and raised in South Calgary. It wasn’t until my husband received a hockey scholarship to Alaska that I left Calgary to complete my education with him in Fairbanks, AK. I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology. What an adventure!
Upon returning to Calgary, we got married and had twins, a boy and a girl, followed by another son. After staying home and raising my family, I realized that a part of me was always missing. I wanted to go back to my roots and return to teaching! I went back to school and now have my diploma in Early Childhood Education.
I absolutely love my job, and I am going on 10 years as a teacher! I enjoy the challenges, the rewards, the hard days, and the best days! I believe every young person is special and deserves to be treated with kindness and respect! My goal as a teacher is to create an environment where children feel free to be themselves, learn at their own pace, and above all, love coming to school each day!
When I am not at school, you will most likely find me at the hockey rink or a volleyball court, supporting my kiddos, or spending time with our little puppy Tucker. Family is everything to me. I am also a HUGE lover of sunflowers, yellow, and my steeped tea from Tim’s! Fun facts: I love to sing and know every Disney song imaginable, Robert Munsch is my favorite childhood author, and creativity fuels my soul.
