Hello! My name is Barb, and I have worked with children for over 15 years. I worked as a youth counselor for 18 years before teaching preschool in my community and then moving on to teach preschool at A Child First. I have been working at OOSC for the past 4 years and very much enjoy working with the different aged children. I received my diploma in Child and Youth Care Work from MRU, which enables me to work with children of all ages. In addition to my previous employment, I was very involved with my children’s activities by volunteering in their school as well as with their hockey, ringette and lacrosse teams.

I am originally from Calgary and my husband, and I have lived in the community of Parkland for over 23 years. We have two daughters and a son who now all live on their own and we became 'empty nesters'. I love to travel to the ocean or mountains, working out, hiking, walking our little Havanese, and doing anything outdoors. I also enjoy baking, cooking and reading a good book in my sunroom.
