Our 3 Year Old Program:
(Must be 3 years old before starting and must be toilet trained)
STEAM LEARNING
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math and involves integrating these concepts into open-ended learning centres. This approach to integrated learning provides many opportunities for children to explore and learn using the pre-kindergarten curriculum.
MUSIC & MOVEMENT AND KIDS YOGA
Music, movement and gross motor activities help in the all-around development of children. It stimulates brain development and enhances creativity and curiosity in young children.
LOOSE PARTS PLAY
In play, loose parts are any materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, and taken apart and put back together in many different ways. Using this type of play provides a wider range of opportunities and creates a stimulating and engaging environment that encourages children to use their imagination and creativity.
SENSORY PLAY
Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates a child’s senses including touch, smell, taste, movement, balance, sight and hearing. Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore.
ZONES OF REGULATION
These self-regulation tools are used to help children understand their emotions and feelings by categorizing all the different ways they feel into four concrete “zones”. It helps empower children to develop self-regulatory skills and abilities, allowing them to manage their emotions and needs more independently.

Daily "circle time" can include colours, numbers, shapes, days of the week, months of the year and patterning. Our program will have a strong focus on pre-printing skills including proper pencil grip, hand placement, finger strength, and fine motor activities. Throughout the year your child will be working on their very own “learning booklet” which will include working on numbers, shapes and pre-printing skills. We also conduct yearly parent/teacher conferences so that you will be kept up to date on how your child is doing.
All of our activities, both structured and un-structured, are created to help develop the necessary academic and social skills, emotional development, self-regulation, and peer skill development (taking turns, interacting and sharing with others) for kindergarten.

Our 4 year old program incorporates everything listed above as well as a variety of exploration centres, story time, alphabet literacy bags based on the letter of the week, arts and crafts, math, free play and imaginative play. They will continue to be exposed to a variety of activities designed to develop their fine motor, gross motor, and printing skills, as well as various manipulatives, toys and games.
Daily "circle time" can include colours, numbers, days of the week, patterns, and months of the year. There will also be alphabet literacy bags based on the letter of that week. For each letter of the alphabet, we have a literacy bag chocked full of fun and educational items and stories based on that letter, designed to teach them letter recognition, proper letter formation, and letter sounds.
Our strong focus on literacy also includes actively using the Pre-Kindergarten Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) early literacy program to introduce your child to printing capital letters and numbers with proper sequence and formation. HWT teaches letters and numbers in a developmental sequence, focusing on proper letter sequence and formation. When used in conjunction with our literacy bags, letter and number books and hands on manipulatives, it provides a thorough early literacy program. Throughout the year, your child will be working on their "Handwriting Without Tears Workbook" which they will be able to bring home to you at the end of the year. This is a big accomplishment for the children and they are very excited to bring home their workbooks!
All of our activities, both structured and un-structured, are created to help develop the necessary academic and social skills, emotional development, self-regulation, and peer skill development (taking turns, interacting and sharing with others) for kindergarten. Our program also helps prepare your child for the structure and flow of kindergarten.

- Development of reading readiness skills (letter recognition, formation and sounds)
- The use of pre-kindergarten sight words
- Handwriting Without Tears for both upper case and lower case letters
