Our Vision

Our preschool is based on the belief that a child’s natural love of learning is encouraged and stimulated through play, experience and age appropriate educational activities. Play can be a fun, exciting and successful venue for learning when paired with hands-on educational opportunities as well as music, physical fitness, and art.

Our program allows for both group and individual learning and play experiences, giving your child the chance to develop and grow socially and academically. We plan and implement activities designed to stimulate natural curiosity, exploration and discovery.

Our activities, both structured and un-structured, will help develop the necessary academic and social skills, emotional development, self-regulation, and peer skill development for kindergarten. We strive to create an academically challenging, socially nurturing, incredibly fun and secure learning environment.

Our Staff

A Child First Preschool is locally owned and operated by Jennifer Sissons. She is a licensed teacher and has her Child Development Supervisor status with the Government of Alberta.
She believes in being involved in every aspect of the schools, from curriculum development to attending conferences and other professional development courses. Some examples include the annual Southern Alberta Preschool Teachers Association conference, child care leadership conferences, food safety courses and child assessment and referral classes.
The owner and staff are caring, educated, and, most importantly, have a genuine love for children. They have a wealth of experience in teaching and childcare and they are excellent role models whom both parents and children will find approachable and trustworthy. All staff hold current police clearances, which include a vulnerable sector search, and are trained in Early Childhood Education, First Aid and CPR.
